Deck Refinishing
The Woodlands, TX

If you have a deck, then you are going to need to have it refinished at some point, and that is where we come in. We have been building and installing decks in the Woodlands area for years, and from humble beginnings, we have expanded to all types of repairs and refinishing too.

Maintaining and refinishing your deck is one of the best ways to keep your deck looking great and stave off repairs. Adding a fresh protective coat to your deck is going to help it to last longer, especially in the harsh Texan weather.

If you notice that your deck is starting to wear, or is just not beautiful enough to invite the neighbors around, then refinishing is a great way to solve both problems. When we refinish your deck, we will have it looking almost as good as new, and it will become a place that you want to show off.

We live and work in the community and are on a mission to help beautify our glorious area. If you feel that your deck could use a little work, give us a call for a free estimate.

What You Should Know About Deck Staining...

By staining your deck, you are helping to protect it from the elements as well as making it more beautiful. Deck stain can come in many shades and colors, so you can create the deck that you want, and match your yard aesthetic. You are also protecting the wood, stopping moisture from penetrating, and harsh UV rays from bleaching the wood. Both of which can cause the wood to crack and chip, or even rot.

With some high-quality stain, you should not have to stain your deck any more than every 3-4 years. The key when staining the deck is to remove the old stain from the surface and get the deck as clean as possible. You can use a pressure washer to clean the deck before staining.

The cost of staining a deck will cost you between $500-&1,000 if you hire the professionals to do it, but there is also a cost to not staining your deck.

If you do not take care of your deck, then you are going to need to have the deck repaired or replaced, and this is going cost a lot more than re-staining, even if you have to re-stain multiple times over the years. Failing to take care of your deck will leave you with costly repairs and replacements.

In essence, re-stain your deck when it needs it, and you won’t have to worry about much else.

Types Of Deck Stains

Semi Transparent

If you can’t decide between a transparent and solid stain, then a semi-transparent stain gives you the best of both worlds. You still let the natural grain of the wood shine through, but you can deepen the color of the wood or even add a tint of color to it. This type of stain is popular with lighter woods where you want to change the color.

Transparent

If you want to showcase the natural grain of the wood, then a clear stain is your best choice. This is popular with darker woods where there is no need to add any color or to darken the wood, and any woods that have a beautiful grain. If you are trying to match your deck to existing structures, then a clear stain will maintain the shade of the wood.

Solid

When you do not want to show the grain of the wood or are perhaps using cheaper wood that does not have a great natural finish, then a solid stain will cover everything. You can also use a solid stain if you have stained other structures or furniture in your yard and want to maintain a similar look.

Multicolor

There are many colors of stain on the market, and you can change the look of your deck to be however you want it, even combining stains to create mixed colors on your deck for a unique look. Just make sure that you do not use wood that is too dark to stain if you have a color in mind. Plan out your colors first and then use the wood most suited to the stain.
